Radiology conducts research studies of clinical imaging procedures and offers training in biomedical imaging research
The Department of Radiology provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, and interventional (minimally invasive radiology) services. Imaging techniques available include state-of-the-art computed radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, mammography and diagnostic angiography.
Inpatient Services
The Inpatient Radiology Department is a 24-hour imaging service that uses state-of-the-art x-ray producing equipment (computed radiography) to generate images of the tissues, organs, bones and vessels of the body, as prescribed by physicians, to assist in the diagnosis of disease or injury. Procedures are also performed at the patient's bedside using mobile radiographic equipment, in surgical suites through the use of mobile fluoroscopic (C-arm) units, as well as in the Emergency Department, recovery room and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Medical imaging procedures are performed by adapting the variable technical parameters of the procedure to the condition of the patient, assuring minimal radiation exposure to patients and personnel.
Outpatient Services
Radiology provides complete outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures. Comprehensive radiography (x-ray) is available for skeletal, abdominal, chest, genitourinary (GU) and gastrointestinal (GI) diagnostic testing. CT scan of the brain and body and abdominal and musculoskeletal Ultrasound are available. A physician order is required for all procedures
Interventional Radiology & Technology
By providing images of unprecedented clarity and detail, new breakthrough technologies are providing Interventional Radiologists with the ability to perform non-invasive treatments that once required open surgeries.
That means no surgical incisions, no stitches, and no scars. Most Interventional Radiology procedures don’t require a general anesthesia, are less painful and have fewer risks and complications. And most conditions treated with Interventional Radiology can be done in an outpatient setting, or require hospitalization for only a brief time. That translates to shorter hospital stays – and faster recoveries – than surgical patients experience.
The Department of Radiology of the Saurabh's Hospital provides specialized imaging for infants, children and pregnant women. We offer state of the art imaging technologies in an environment that is safe and pleasant for patients and their families. All of our equipment has been adapted for children. We strive for accurate and prompt diagnostic interpretation, cost effective and expert therapeutic intervention and the development of innovative techniques in pediatric radiology
